Sheetz cuts gas prices by 40 cents a gallon through Thanksgiving weekend

Sheetz announced this week it was discounting some gas by 40 cents a gallon ahead of busy Thanksgiving travel.
The deal is for Unleaded 88 and effective immediately at the 505 locations of the gas and convenience store chain that carries that type of fuel. Sheetz has 750 locations, so the company is encouraging to check the app or online whether a location has Unleaded 88.
Unleaded 88 is also called E-15. Drivers are encouraged to check their manuals to check if their car supports Unleaded 88. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved Unleaded 88 for vehicles made in 2001 or later.
It is a fuel blend containing 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline.
AAA is predicting around 80 million people in the U.S. will travel for Thanksgiving this year and nearly 90% of them will be drivers.
The Sheetz discount comes on top of gas prices that are more than 30 cents cheaper on average than this time last year.
The discount runs until the end of November.
